How to optimized a new website for seo contest?

I join seo contest since 2008 when i start blogging but i always loose most the contest i join during 2008. One year after 2009 i learn how seo works and link building i test many ways of link building during 2009 i won different seo contest i won 4 seo contest during that year but i loose also some seo contest especially International SEO Contest always on the top 10 finisher.
During that year i learn many techniques and strategies just participating on seo contest and i discover different techniques. This eiknujomorp i don’t know if i can handle it because i am busy with different projects and also launch my 2nd national seo contest. But i try my self to work on this to discover new techniques.
