As years of experience on seo contest since i join seo contest on 2008 optimizing on a new pages for eiknujomorp page is wait until your site being index and after your site index build links daily by sitewide links but not much and some blog commenting. If the website take effect after few days create reviews on different sites with good backilinks and traffic it will surely help on a new page.
I have been sandbox and have some penalty during i am seo contest addict during 2008 and 2009. I won different seo contset during that time but this year 2010 i am very busy with different projects and launching my own seo contest.
